Erin

My parents, assured I was a boy, didn’t give much thought to selecting a female name but nevertheless decided they should have a back up plan “just in case”. After many unsuccessful discussions about acceptable nicknames for “Elizabeth” (a very common name in the late seventies and early eighties) they decided to scrap the name and selected “Erin” (after the girl in the Waltons). Life as a Jew named Erin has been interesting.
