Emmeline

We had her name a year before I got pregnant. My husband had always wanted to name a daughter Antigone, because she was a brave, "badass" female character and he liked the name. I did not like it at all; it was not going to happen. So, one day he told me he had come across the story of Emmeline Pankhurst, an influential and incredibly brave British women's rights activist of the late 19th and early 20th century. We immediately fell in love with the name "Emmeline" and felt it was a great alternative to Antigone.
